Abstract

To analyze the concept of CHINA in Vietnamese media discourse, the review of conceptual metaphors of interpersonal relations, namely neighborhood, brotherhood, friendship and enmity have been proposed. The study of systematic metaphorical transfers within different sectors to reflect the concept of CHINA in Vietnamese media discourse have identified the main trends of the image of China in the Vietnamese media. The analysis provides not only fixation of Vietnamese modern ideas about China, but also a tool for social forecasting.
