ДЕЯКІ АСПЕКТИ ІСТОРІЇ І КУЛЬТУРИ КИТАЮ ЗА ДОКУМЕНТАМИ ТАЇСІЇ ЖАСПАР З ФОНДІВ ЦЕНТРАЛЬНОГО ДЕРЖАВНОГО АРХІВУ-МУЗЕЮ ЛІТЕРАТУРИ І МИСТЕЦТВА УКРАЇНИ (ДО 110-РІЧЧЯ УКРАЇНСЬКОЇ ХУДОЖНИЦІ)

Abstract

The article is dedicated to describing of the documents of famous Ukrainian artist Taisia Jaspar on the history and culture of China, which are stored in the fonds of the Central State Archives-Museum of Literature and Art of Ukraine. The main facts from the artist’s life, especially the 35-year period of her residence in China, and her contribution to Ukrainian- Chinese cooperation in the field of painting, museum work, exhibition activities, preservation of cultural heritage and socio-economic adaptation of Ukrainian emigrants in China are highlighted. The documents on the development of Ukrainian-Chinese cultural ties in the period from 1930 to 1970, which are stored in the personal fond of Taisia Jaspar No. 1123 and other fonds of the CSAMLA of Ukraine are also described. Among them are the correspondence of the artist with famous Chinese figures and her students who lived in Shanghai, her personal documents, originals and photocopies of artistic works on Chinese subjects (portraits and landscapes), individual and group photographs depicting landscapes of Chinese cities, interiors of rooms, various details of the social and everyday life of the Chinese and the Ukrainian diaspora in Shanghai in the 1930s and 1940s. These documents contain a lot of valuable information for researchers – historians, local historians, ethnographers, culturologists, art critics and journalists. The purpose of the study is to attract the attention of scientists and fans of Chinese culture to the valuable archival documents, help increase the number of researchers and putting the little-studied documents in scientific circulation. The research methodology is based on common scientific methods of analysis, synthesis, description, comparison, detailing, generalization, objective-factual and special-historical methods (historical-comparative, biographical and historical-source analysis). Scientific novelty: the author analyzes the information potential of the documents on Chinese history and culture, some of which haven’t been yet put in scientific circulation. The documents have been systematized and described in chronological order and according to the species composition, their information content has been disclosed. The conclusions state that the archival documents of Taisia Jaspar from the fonds of the CSAMLA of Ukraine and her works are a valuable and reliable source of information for researchers, and the contribution of the famous artist and public figure to the development of Ukrainian-Chinese cultural cooperation is very significant and requires additional research involving new documents.
